Intro new JLA!

In the aftermath of the Earth / Mars war, the JLA satellite lay in ruins. In the absence of the core heroes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash & Green Lantern it fell to the Martian Manhunter to aid the League in repelling a Martian fleet set on invasion.

In lieu of this, Aquaman as Chairman and original member of the JLA decides to disband the League as he feels the League needs a dedicated membership that can commit to the team. He also feels that the League should focus their efforts on what they can do on the ground rather than act as an inter-galactic police force.
